Perth Tax Pro (ABN [ABN], “we”, “us”, “our”) is committed to protecting your privacy. As a registered Tax Agent, we also handle information in line with our obligations to the Tax Practitioners Board and the ATO.

  • Tax File Numbers (TFNs) and ABNs

Tax File Numbers

TFNs are sensitive information. We collect and use TFNs only for lawful tax-related purposes and protect them in accordance with the Privacy Act and the Taxation Administration Act. We will not use or disclose your TFN except as permitted by law.

3. How we collect information

We collect information directly from you, and where authorised, from third parties such as the ATO, your previous accountant, financial institutions, employers, superannuation funds and government agencies. Where it is reasonable and practicable, we will collect personal information directly from you.

4. Why we collect and use your information

We use your personal information to:

  • Prepare and lodge tax returns and other documents
  • Provide accounting, advisory and SMSF services
  • Communicate with you and the ATO on your behalf
  • Manage our engagement, including billing and record keeping
  • Comply with our legal and professional obligations
  • Provide you with relevant updates about our services, where permitted

5. Disclosure of your information

We may disclose your personal information to:

  • The Australian Taxation Office and other government or regulatory bodies
  • Other professional advisers you authorise us to deal with
  • Service providers who assist us, such as software, cloud storage and IT providers, who are bound to protect your information
  • Any party where disclosure is required or authorised by law

We will not sell your personal information.

6. Overseas disclosure

Some of our service providers (for example cloud-based software) may store data on servers located outside Australia. Where this occurs, we take reasonable steps to ensure your information is handled consistently with the Australian Privacy Principles. If we send you marketing communications, you may opt out at any time by using the unsubscribe option or contacting us. We will stop sending marketing material on request.
